Ok, ok...everyone knows about Victoria's Secret. But the store in downtown San Francisco is a delight, and since it's competing with all the surrounding chain stores, you might not think to stop in there. So what makes this such a good place to visit? For one thing, the staff is super friendly; they'll joke around with you while being helpful, instead of giving off that chilly, inhuman vibe you sometimes get from people in the service industry. But make no mistake: this store is all luxe. The dressing rooms are beautiful, with a full door (I hate those half-doors, or worse, curtains), plenty of mirrors, perfect lighting, and a nice seat. And, of course, the store's two floors contain plenty of bargain bins and sale racks, but even those are so elegantly laid out that you never feel like a second class shopper when you're rifling through them. (Don't you hate stores that hide the sales racks in the dim back corner, so you feel kind of like a criminal?) I highly recommend stopping in here, even if you're just browsing. Sometimes it's nice just to be surrounded by so much prettiness.
