Every year on Gay Pride Weekend, you'll see an enormous pink triangle laid out on the hillside of Twin Peaks. This is courtesy of the Friends of the Pink Triangle, an all-volunteer organization who felt that Pride celebrants should be reminded that things haven't always been easy for LGBT folks. The sight of the triangle helps us remember how far this community has come, and keeps us from taking that progress for granted. Those interested can volunteer to help put up and take down the enormous fabric triangle -- you get free t-shirts and coffee, an opening ceremony with some local notables, and a great social hour.
