The First Street Cafe

Benicia (pronounced ben-EE-sha, NOT ben-IH-sha) is a little undiscovered jewel box in the East Bay. With its clean streets, smiling families and beautiful views of the water every way you turn, this would be the perfect place to settle for lunch or a lifetime. And nestled like a jewel in this lovely setting is the First Street Cafe. Drop down at one of their outdoor tables on pretty, bustling First Street for a leisurely lunch and people-watching fest. Make sure you check out their milkshakes, made with real ice cream, and their chicken salad sandwich on walnut wheat bread. (But order early -- they only bake one walnut loaf a day, and it goes fast!)
