Eat in the raw

Want to see what this raw food craze is all about? (If your answer is "What raw food craze?"...well, you have a point. But I digress.) Alive! Restaurant offers an all-raw menu. The food is all vegan (no meat, dairy or honey), contains no wheat or grains, and is entirely uncooked. If this sounds like food you could find lying on the ground in a field somewhere, think again. Chef and owner Leland Jung creates masterful compositions of flavors that are as pretty as they are tasty. The restaurant has a stall at the farmer's market, but it's worth a visit to the location to sit in the Zen garden and have full access to the menu.

This is a dinner-only restaurant, and they're closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Also, be warned: the food is a little on the pricey side, as with any gourmet restaurant.
