Hawaiian restaurants seem to sprout up and disappear with the regularity of tides in this city. However, you can be reasonably sure that daKine's Hawaiian BBQ will still be there when you go -- which is extra strange, since it's right across the street from the also popular Hawaiian Drive-In. daKine's has a more festive vibe and a bigger menu, good when you want to sit down and really dive into some gloriously greasy Hawaiian grill. The Drive-In is more low-key, perfect for picking up food to go and taking it back to snuggle in front of re-runs of Hawaii Five-O.
