Galactic Protest Marches

San Francisco is the home of the peace protest, and no visit to the city is complete without participating in at least one angry rally. Summers usually present one or two anti-war events in Dolores Park, on Valencia & 18th Street, but if you miss the boat just head downtown to the financial district. Wander around at about 5 pm and you're sure to see local celebrity Frank Chu, holding his now-legendary sign: "Impeach Bush: 12 Galaxies Guilted Into A Technotronic Rocket Society." Get in line behind Frank and march to the beat of a different drum for awhile, garnering approving looks from the passing suits and mad indie cred from your date. Follow it up with a visit to the 12 Galaxies bar, named for Frank, and talk world affairs to impress your date with your political savvy.
