The bar 12 Galaxies was named for local zealot Frank Chu. Rarely a day passes when Chu isn't glimpsed downtown, wearing a suit and sunglasses and marching determinedly with his famous sign. The text changes -- in the early days it was Impeach [name], 12 Galaxies Guiltied Into A Technotronic Rocket Society," but since then it's gotten more complex. The only thing that remains the same is the inclusion of 12 Galaxies.

You might also see Chu at the bar, where rumor has it he has a life supply of free drinks. He often introduces the (excellent) live acts as well. The bar's two floors are well situated: hardcore fans can rock out on the dance floor in front of the stage, while more laid-back hipster types can take their drinks up to the balcony.
